Common Areas
A large water garden with white cement stepping stones sets the tone before you enter the Villa. This features a delightful Oaxacan terracotta fountain and a wide range of tropical plants set into and surrounding the water.
From the reception area, which is under a 15 foot domed palapa, your first impression is the breathtaking view of “Tejoncito point ” and blue water to the horizon (Agua Azul).
The sala, dining / common area, under a 30 foot domed palapa, is open on the ocean facing side with a spectacular ocean view. There is a ½ bathroom just off this area.
The library/office has a custom bookcase with several hundred books, A/C and fan.
The cascading swimming pool is set in a multi-tiered garden surrounded by an abundance of tropical plants and shrubs with a palapa sunshade on one side.
Bedrooms
Each of the six guestroom is on its own level with:
- a spacious ocean-view terraza with palapa sunshade
- a private bathroom
- a built in queen size bed (the Orca room has 2 queen size beds)
- A/C and fan
The master bedroom provides privacy and convenience for the owners. It is set apart from the guest areas with a staircase leading directly to the kitchen plus a second staircase accessing a covered patio, just off the common area
This suite has:
- A large bedroom with queen size bed
- A small studio
- Private bathroom
- Ample closets and storage
- A large ocean view palapa covered terraza
- A/C and fans
A flexible room, currently being used as a sitting room/multi purpose room. It is similar to the other guestrooms and could be a seventh guestroom and is in fact, one of the larger and most private rooms. This room has:
- spacious palapa-covered terraza
- a private bathroom
- A/C and fan
The maid's room, currently used as a utility room, is smaller than the guestrooms however, it could be rented for a single person. This room has:
- a spacious ocean-view palapa-covered terraza
- a private bathroom
Service Areas
The kitchen has ample counter and storage space. Tile and tropical hardwood make this room a very pleasant and practical work space.
The laundry room houses two washers and a dryer. However, the dryer is rarely used because there is plenty of space for hanging linens in the laundry garden.
Details
The Villa features hand-crafted hardwood doors and cabinetry, hand-made tile, an abundance of palapa (palm thatch), terra cotta pots, and many other design details that give it a unique “Mexican tropical” feeling. There is extensive landscaping throughout the property with over forty varieties of mature plants, shrubs, and palms, many of which flower year round.
